Carroll Saints cheer on Helena Bighorns

Carroll College students cheered on the Helena Bighorns during college night on Friday, Jan. 27, where the Bighorns won against the Great Falls Americans 8-0.

“I love that Carroll gave us the opportunity to come to a Bighorns game,” said Megan Olsen, a sophomore health science major from Boise, Idaho. “I am having the time of my life tonight.”

At the game, the Bighorns announced that approximately 1,840 fans had attended the college night game.

“Carroll Bighorn Hockey Night has been a tradition over the past seven to 10 years,” said Patrick Harris, the director of student activities at Carroll College. “It is a night that Carroll students have always enjoyed, and we have always had close to 200 students attend.”

The starting lineup for the Bighorns consisted of Harlan Wojtusik, Ty Moore, Andrew Deskin, Owen Ramsay, Mason Eggen, and Keaton French.

During the second period of the game, Captain Tyler Bloom got a game ejection for fighting a player on the Americans.

“The fans had so much energy,” said Bloom. “Since it was college night, I wanted to give them some action.”
