Carroll College trivia at the Lewis and Clark Taproom

On Wednesday, Feb. 1, the Carroll College Gold Team teamed up with Lewis & Clark Tap Room to host a Carroll-themed trivia night.

The event had five main rounds. The judges asked 10 questions in each round, two of which were Carroll College themed. Once the main rounds were over, the hosts included a special sixth round featuring exclusively Carroll-themed trivia questions.

“We have worked with Carroll with other events and catering events in the past,” said Greg Wins, the events manager at the tap room. “However, this is our first time working with the Gold Team.”

About 226 people came to test their knowledge, which broke into around 44 teams participating in the event. Compared with previous trivia nights, this is about a 25 percent increase in attendance and 10 teams more than average.

“I am very happy with the turnout tonight,” said Hayden Miller, a Gold Team director and senior business major from Camas, Washington. “We just wanted to do this event for fun and see how many people are aware of Carroll’s history.”

Several lucky teams won prizes throughout the trivia. However, the team Sweet Caroline (Bum Bum Bum) dominated the game and won a majority of the regular rounds. At the end of each round, the winning team receives five free beers (for team members of age).

The team Chuck > Hayden won the special Carroll round and took home the Carroll and Lewis & Clark merch.

“We are happy with the event and would be more open to doing more events with Gold Team in the future,” Wins said.
