Meal plans and dining changes for 2022

The Carroll College dining hall, St. Thomas Aquinas Commons (STAC), has made improvements to the dining program this year. Carroll solicited student feedback and engaged in an extended Request for Proposal (RFP) process to identify the best dining partner to meet our needs, deciding to remain with Sodexo.

Upgrades to the STAC include expanded hours, with non-stop, continuous service from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week. Carroll students have taken advantage of these new hours, capitalizing on their meal plans and utilizing the dining services.

The new hours have allowed athletes to go to the STAC more often because practice and game times no longer interfere with a limited dining schedule.

What was formerly “Tres Habaneros,” an entity only available through the use of FLEX dollars, is now found inside of the STAC at the “Taqueria” as a part of a student’s meal plan. With the Taqueria moving into the STAC itself, the upper cube features “Ramen” in the space that used to be Tres Habaneros.

For dietary needs, the dining hall has provided variety in their vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free options. The program has been designed to accommodate the full range of needs.

Finally, automated espresso and specialty coffee machines have been implemented in the STAC as a part of all meal plans. Enjoy a latte, chai tea, hot chocolate, or another option with your meal or to-go!
