HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll Volleyball team came up just short in a senior night effort, falling in five sets to MSU-Northern on Wednesday at the Carroll PE Center.
The Fighting Saints (5-20, 0-9) battled, but couldn’t find a way to close out their final home game against the Skylights (11-13, 3-6).
The Skylights got on the board first, picking up a tight 25-23 opening set win to go up 1-0.
Carroll would turn things around, however, winning both the second (25-21) and third (25-15) sets to grab the lead.
Playing from behind, MSU-Northern would go on to win both of the final two sets, 25-21, 15-10, hitting .246 in the frames.
Mara Lynch (Bozeman, Mont. / SR) again led Carroll in kills, finishing with 13. Lexi Gleasman (Chelan, Wash. / SR) also played well, finishing with nine on the evening.
Maddie Wilkes (Pocatello, Idaho / SR) and Jansyn Carrizales (Sunnyside, Wash. / Fr) each finished with 22 assists.
Defensively, Julia Carr (Portland, Ore. / SR) led all players with 35 digs, while Kylie Zralka (Sherwood, Ore. / JR) posted four blocks.
Jessalyn Chvilicek led the Skylights with 12 kills, while Macee Murphy posted a game-high 27 assists.
Carroll will now head to Butte for a matchup with the Orediggers on Friday night to close out the 2023 regular season.
