Five Carroll women named CCC all-conference

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The 2023 Cascade Collegiate Conference Women’s Soccer postseason awards were announced Thursday by the conference office. Carroll College had five players named to the All-Conference teams.

The Fighting Saints (11-2-4, 8-1-3) were well represented on the postseason honors list in 2023, following one of the most successful regular seasons in program history.

Carroll had three First Team All-Conference selections, (Maria Ackerman, Emily Funseth, Avery Lambourne) as well as two Second Team All-Conference selections (Natalie Brown, Delaney Moczan).

Emily Funseth (Great Falls, Mont. / SR) was named a First Team All-Conference midfielder. Funseth was Carroll’s leading scorer on the season, finishing with a team-high 10 goals and four assists to finish her season with 24 total points.

Maria Ackerman (Billings, Mont. / FR) was named a First Team All-Conference goalkeeper. Ackerman, a true freshman was outstanding for the Saints in net in 2023. In 14 starts, she finished with 6 total shutouts, a goals against average of .79 and a total save percentage of .807 for the season.

Avery Lambourne (Billings, Mont. / FR) was named a First Team All-Conference defender. Another true freshman, Lambourne was as solid as they come on the back line for a Saints team that only allowed 9 shots per game. Lambourne also contributed on the offensive end, with two goals that would each prove to be game-winners.

Natalie Brown (Pasadena, Calif. / SR) was named a Second Team All-Conference defender. Brown was terrific in her final season as a Saint. She helped anchor a Carroll defensive unit that was as stout as they come, and also finished with one goal and four assists for a total of six points on the year.

Delaney Moczan (Las Vegas, Nev. / FR) was named a Second Team All-Conference forward. Moczan was a force on the front-end of a Carroll attacking unit that heavily out-shot their opponents on the year. Moczan finished as the team’s second leading scorer, with six goals and two assists for a total of 14 points on the season.
