Stastny Twins sit top-seven after Day One of Golf Championship

HELENA, Mont. – After 36 holes of the 2026 Frontier Conference Championship the Carroll Women have a pair of sisters sitting in the top seven individually, as Ellie and Alli Stastny paved the way at the Papago Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon.

The twin sisters had near-mirror rounds on the first day of action. Ellie Stastny (Murtaugh, Idaho / SO) sits tied for fifth, shooting an opening round 80 that featured a pair of birdies, and a second-round 83, while Alli Stastny (Murtaugh, Idaho / SO) shot 84 in the morning round and followed it up with two birdies of her own in an afternoon 80.

The siblings’ performance helped spur the Fighting Saints Women to a third place standing in the team competition with a team score of +106, while the Men finished first day action in sixth-place at +67.

Addison Slivinski (Montpelier, Idaho / FR) sits in a tie for 17th after two rounds (90-87, +33), and Stella Claridge (Kalispell, Mont. / SR) finished at +37 (91-90) to sit at No. 20 in the individual competition. Maddy Olson (Spokane, Wash. / JR) and Kate Williams (Portland, Ore. / JR) split the fifth position on day one, with Olson getting the opening round and Williams subbing in for the afternoon. Olson posted a first round 88, while Williams carded a 95 to round out the Carroll scoring.

The Saints hold a one-stroke lead over Montana Tech (+107), and are just eight shots back of second place Bellevue (+98). Rocky leads the tournament, posting a team score of +84.

Over on the Men’s side of the action, Tanner Cromwell (Anaconda, Mont. / SO) leads the Saints at 14th following two rounds. The sophomore carded matching rounds of 78 to sit at +12 after one day. TJ Fierling (North Bend, Ore. / JR) is tied for 25th, battling back from an opening round 84 with an afternoon 77 to sit at +17. JT Slivinski (Montpelier, Idaho / JR) also posted a better second round, going 82-80 to finish the day one stroke back of Fierling at +18 in 29th place. One spot behind him on the leaderboard is Kyle Kennah (Laurel, Mont. / SO), who went 85-80 to finish at +21. Hudson Reinke (Filer, Idaho / SO) rounded out the Carroll scoring with rounds of 84 and 87, putting him in 27th place.

The Saints sit nine strokes back of Montana Tech (+58), while Rocky holds a commanding lead over the field at one-over heading into final round play.

Wednesday’s final round will be a tee-time start off two sides of the course, with pairings set based off of day one scoring.
