After a long summer, the new Carroll Saints finally kicked off the upcoming school year. They attended student orientation, moved into their new homes, and met new friends.

Carroll welcomed its newest Saints to campus on Sunday, Aug 21 starting bright and early at 8 a.m. CORE members and volunteers were ready to start carrying up mini-fridges and T.V.s with a welcoming attitude.

“It was fun to finally move in and start building relationships with all my teammates,” said Dylann Pullen a first-year football player from Las Vegas, Nevada, majoring in public health with a focus on a pre-med track.

“Moving day was easy for the football players who moved in three weeks early to start practice,” said Pullen. “Having all the freshman football players in one building made it easy to get to know each other and start building team chemistry.”

Students who moved in at a later time were also quick to start joining in on all of the activities and enjoying the move-in process.

“I felt super responsible for having my own room and responsibilities that came with moving in,” said Grace Arrand a criminology student from Flagstaff, Arizona.

Amelia Moore, a psychology major from Boise, Idaho, explains the fun times and help she had from the Carroll upperclassman.

“Moving day was super fun. All the students that helped bring my stuff in were really nice and welcoming” said Moore. “The exploring that my parents and I did was a lot of fun, along with meeting new people and helping out other friends that I knew.”

The move-in and orientation activities were aimed at helping the new students make friends and learn their way around campus. Students got to know each other and celebrated the start of the new school year with fun activities. Some of the events included swing dancing lessons, a student-parent BBQ, a downtown social, and bonding on Trinity lawn.

“I thought the environment was really encouraging. I was nervous at first but orientation really helped with that,” said Amber Coleman, a nursing student from Havre, Montana. “Orientation was a helpful way to get involved”

“Swing dancing was really fun. I loved that I got to wear my cowboy boots and dance around,” said Sophia Bourekis a nursing student, from Spokane Washington.

The class of 2026 makes a strong contribution to the Carroll student body. With the strong start in August, first-year Saints are determined to make the fall semester an outstanding experience.
