Carroll men finish ninth, women finish sixth at soggy beartooth invitational

The Carroll College golf teams wrapped up play at the 2023 Beartooth Invitational at the Laurel Country Club on Tuesday in rainy conditions amidst a highly-competitive field.

Conditions were not ideal on Tuesday, as the Laurel Country Club saw consistent rain to slow down the entire field on both side of the action.

The Carroll Men finished in ninth-place in the event, which featured some of the top teams from multiple different divisions in the Pacific Northwest.

Carroll, unablev to impove upon their position from the first day, shot 981 (+117) for the week, finishing ahead of Providence (991) and MSU-Northern (1137), and third place out of the Frontier schools participating (Montana Tech 938, Rocky 891).

JT Slivinski (Montpelier, Idaho / FR) paced the Saints, carding a three round total of 241, followed closely by fellow freshman (TJ Fierling / North Bend, Wash. / FR), who finished with a 243.

The Carroll Women, like the Men, stayed locked in to their day one position. Their three round total of 1069 (+205) saw them finish in sixth place, and third out of the Frontier Teams in contention (Montana Tech 1008, Rocky 949).

Celi Chapman finished in solo 14th with a three round total of 250 (+34), Katie Fagg finished four strokes behind her at 254 (+38).
