It is natural for humans to gain a pattern and schedule in their daily lives. And for some people, they decide to make a change. This was the case for international student Sam Loughton.
Loughton is a freshman at Carroll College working on a degree in business accounting and finance while playing soccer.
Loughton decided to attend Carroll College and travel to Helena from his home city Kingston upon Hull, England. Kingston upon Hull, commonly known as Hull is a city in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England
One day, he decided to make a change in his everyday life.
Back home in Hull, he enjoyed playing football (soccer) and hanging out with friends.
“I would have school during the day followed by work or football practice,” Loughton said. “On weekends I played football (soccer) and then went out with friends.”
Though Loughton misses his family and friends the most from back home, he enjoys the opportunities of the change in locations here. His favorite part about attending Carroll is the chance to travel around America with the soccer team.
Besides the opportunity to travel, Loughton enjoys his time with the men’s soccer team.
“I love the competitiveness, and also enjoy how close the team is as we are all like family,” Loughton said. “I like how much our coach helps me with anything I need.”
