On Jan. 21, Carroll Saint tight end Tony Collins chased his NFL dreams by playing in the Dream Bowl at Cowboy stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The Dream Bowl is an invite-only NFL prospect bowl game that consists of players from NCAA Division I, II, and III and NAIA levels. Collins was excited to have this experience.
“The game was a really good experience, great exposure, and an overall blessing,” said Collins.
The 6-foot-4, 234 lb tight-end from Fort Worth, Texas, was a four-time All-Frontier Conference player for the fighting Saints. As soon as Collins stepped onto the field in purple and gold, the coaches knew he would be a remarkable student-athlete.
Collin’s team ended up winning the bowl game, 49-6.
Collins left his mark on the Carroll College community in his five years of competing for the Fighting Saints and working hard in the classroom. He will graduate from Carroll with a bachelor’s degree in business.
“My favorite part of Carroll football is the brotherhood and culture we have adopted, which translates through the community and school,” Collins said.
Jaden Harrison, a junior business marketing and management major from St. George, Utah, and former teammate of Collins, said Collins was feared on the field and loved off the field.
“Tony was a great player on the field and an even better person off the field; he was always able to make everyone feel like they were his best friends and was able to brighten everyone’s day,” Harrison said.
Collins has returned to Helena to train and waits in the hope of getting a call from an NFL team.
