Sleeping Giant Lanes hosts free bowling night

On Friday, March 3, Carroll College students packed Sleeping Giant Lanes for the first free bowling night of the semester.

The night, which started at 9 p.m., ended at 11:30 p.m., including two and a half hours of nonstop bowling in which every single lane was filled with Carroll College students.

“Bowling night was an absolute blast,” said Gracie Portman, a senior nursing student from Puyallup, Washington. “It was jam-packed with students, and I had so much fun bowling against my friends.”

Due to the Carroll Student Activities club sponsoring the night, to get in, all it took was for students to show their Carroll IDs. From there, they had all night to have some fun and enjoy the night with their friends. Because of this free admission, students filled the place up in no time.

Sleeping Giant Lanes also made the experience more enjoyable for the students by shutting their lights off and turning on their disco lights and music. Students were dancing and singing along all night while competing against each other for the best scores.

Despite nobody bowling a perfect score of 300, many students competed for who could get the best score in their individual lane.

“I outbowled and beat all of my friends in our lane,” said Max Peed, a junior biology major from Rathdrum, Idaho. “I even won $10 off of one friend.”

As of now, it is unknown whether or not there will be a second free bowling night this semester, but I am sure many Carroll students are hoping for another one after the success of the first.

However, Carroll students would also like to thank Sleeping Giant Lanes of Helena for hosting a wonderful lights-out experience.
