On September 23, the Saints volleyball team won their first conference game of the year 3-2 against the Western Bulldogs.

“We were all super excited about this game, there is gonna be a lot of energy when you walk in the stadium,” said Hannah Schweickert, a sophomore going into civil engineering from Columbia Falls.

The Saints took care of business on the first set, winning 25-14. The second set was a similar result as the Saints won 17-25.

Western wasn’t going out without a fight, as the Bulldogs went on to win the third set 25-23.

“Getting to play together and getting to know each other on the court is huge for us. We have improved some much since our tournaments and we mesh together really well,” said Schweickert.

The Saints were in a long fourth set that went into overtime. Both teams were going back and forth until the Bulldogs would get two consecutive points giving them the 27-25 win.

The Saints banded together and won the last set in a 15-12 victory.
