Carroll tradition honors seniors in style

On March 24, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m, the beloved Carroll College tradition of Junior Senior Formal Banquet took place in the Great Northern Ballroom at the Great Northern Hotel.

Kelsyn Lohr, a junior biology major from Shelby, Montana, was one of many students who enjoyed the evening.

“I love getting all dressed up to see the same people I always do!” said Lohr. “For real, Junior Senior is a blast!”

“I like the food, the jazz music, and seeing my friends!” said Tanner Davis, a Carroll College Special Olympics Club member.

The evening began with drinks and socialization, followed by a lovely supper. The meal was served with the side of a salad, and choices of steak, salmon, chicken cordon bleu, or a vegetarian option for the main course. Decadent chocolate cake was provided for dessert.

During the course of the evening, the Wilber Rehman Jazz Band performed for all 245 attendees.

Eden Houske, a senior biology major from Palos Verdes, California, was especially impressed by the music.

“The cellist was divine…especially after my wine!” said Houske.

The Junior Senior Banquet is a gesture of gratitude to all seniors for receiving their education at Carroll. The event is also a celebration of passing the torch from Seniors to Juniors, as they become new leaders of the Carroll family. All attending seniors were asked to commit themselves to promises as a Saint taking on the world, such as to always respect the dignity of others, and to be a loving and caring person to the Carroll family.

Patrick Harris, Director of Student Activities, expressed his thanks to all who attended.

“It was a wonderful night,” Harris said. “I am so proud of our juniors and seniors for making the event so much fun, and so classy.”
