In place of the Halloween dance this year, the Carroll College Student Activities Club offered a free movie night for Carroll students.
Students had the opportunity to pick any movie of their choice and receive free tickets that were redeemable for Oct. 28.
“I love it when Carroll does free events like these. I just finished a long week with an exam in one of my classes, so it was nice to get out and see a movie of my choice,” said Rebecca Rich, a junior nursing student from Agoura Hills, California. “I’m a big Tswizzle fan, so I decided to see the Taylor Swift movie about her Eras Tour with some friends, and it was so fun.”
Some students decided to watch scary movies as Halloween approaches.
With the “Five Nights at Freddy’s” movie coming to theaters on Oct. 27, a few Carroll students attended the movie.
“I went and saw the “Five Nights at Freddy’s” with my roommate,” said Tristan Gallagher, a junior civil engineering major from Austin, Texas. “I am a big scary movie fan. I didn’t think it was super scary, but overall I really liked the movie, especially since it was free!”
In a world with deadlines and exams, Carroll offered its students a well-deserved break.
It not only provided an opportunity for students to see a movie of their choice but also spent time amongst friends while enjoying delicious movie theater snacks.
“One of my favorite parts about going to the movies is getting popcorn,” said Daniel Henjum, a senior health science major from Columbia Falls, Montana. “I like to ask for extra butter because it’s hard to replicate movie theater popcorn in the dorms.”
Events like these remind students to take time for themselves and to enjoy their weekends.
Carroll understands that students need these moments of relaxation to recharge and spend time with their peers to strengthen the student body community.
