HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll College Women’s Soccer team punched their ticket to the CCC Championship next month, earning a 3-0 shutout over Evergreen State on Saturday afternoon.

The Fighting Saints (9-4-4, 6-3-2) picked up their second-consecutive shutout, blanking the Geoducks (3-8-3, 2-6-2) at Nelson Stadium.

An unseasonably warm afternoon with perfect conditions set the stage for the Saints to play a near perfect game.

Delaney Moczan (Las Vegas, Nev. / SO), the CCC leader in goals, got the Saints on the board in the 24th minute. The goal was of significance, as it moved the sophomore into the top-10 in program history for goals scored.

Just five minutes later, Moczan would hit the stat sheet again, this time on an assist to Deanna Lord’s fifth goal of the season gave Carroll a 2-0 advantage.

Ella Kuenzli (Colorado Springs, Colo. / JR) stretched the lead to three near the end of the frame, capping a dominant opening frame for the Saints.

In total, Carroll put up 26 shots to the Geoducks’ three, with 13 shots on goal in the match.

Maria Ackerman (Billings, Mont. / SO) and Katie Gilb (Spokane, Wash. / SO) combined for the clean sheet, with Ackerman recording the lone save of the match.

The Saints will turn their attention towards a senior day showdown next Sunday, Nov. 3, with Providence at 1 p.m.
