Women’s retreat: campus ministry heads to the mountains
From Friday, Jan. 27 to Sunday, Jan. 29, around 70 women bonded over friendship and faith during Campus Ministry’s annual retreat at Camp Utmost in Greenough, Montana.
The Carroll College website calls the retreat “a great opportunity for the ladies on campus to gather in a beautiful place to explore how we as sisters in Christ can grow closer to God together.”
The women on the trip participated in snow games, reflections, good food, and lots of bonding time.
Sofia Fray, a junior special education and psychology major, from Spokane, Washington, was one of the attendees this year. Fray described her experience as “extremely cold” but also “peaceful, personable, and memorable.”
Fray said the retreat was “such a beautiful time to take a break from the hustle of Carroll and to truly be present.”
Another student who joined the retreat this year was Shannon Frati, a senior nursing major from Wasilla, Alaska. One of Frati’s favorite memories of the trip was using the sledding hill on the property.
“It was so fun to race up and down the hill and laugh with the other ladies on the retreat,” said Frati.
Both Fray and Frati strongly recommend this experience to the other women on campus.
“It’s a great time to escape campus, drink lots of hot beverages, and spend time with some incredible women in prayer and conversation,” said Fray. “And it’s also a great way to deepen your relationship with God.”
