Women’s Cross Country

The women’s cross country team is ready to add a fifth straight Frontier Conference championship to their legacy. The team also hopes to finish even higher at nationals where they placed 25th last year.

“I feel extremely excited for this season,” said senior Madalen Shipman, a business major from Dillon, Montana. “Coming off of four consecutive conference wins, we definitely have a target on our backs. We have some big goals as a team and are ready to perform well under the pressure.”

The women’s cross country team attended their first meet of the 2024 season in Bozeman on Aug. 30 for the Bobcat Twilight Meet. The Saints placed 4th overall and 1st among NAIA schools. Freshman Hailey Watkins, a Biology major from Dillon, Montana, was the top finisher for the Frontier conference.

The women’s cross country team is very young. With only two seniors and nine freshmen and sophomores, there is a bright future ahead for our cross country Saints.

“We brought in some strong freshmen this year,” said Shipman. “They are gritty and determined and have really been pushing us in practices and workouts. They have been working hard and we have a fun group this year!”
