By The Saints volleyball team wrapped up their year at the Frontier Conference tournament, after losing in the first round to MSU-Northern on Nov. 15.
Prior, Carroll’s volleyball team had a hard-earned victory over Rocky Mountain on Nov. 7, with a comeback late in the sets winning 3-2. This win secured them the 4th seed in the upcoming Frontier Conference championship.
The Saints fell short the first two sets, but returned to win the following three sets. Some standout Saints from the game—senior Elizabeth Heuiser from Helena who is currently studying nursing, finished the game with 19 kills and 5 blocks, sophomore Lauren Heuiser from Helena who is currently studying Pre-Elementary Education, finished the game with 18 kills and 6 blocks, Junior Sidney Gulick out of Kalispell Mt, who is getting a degree in Biochemistry/Molecular biology had 15 kills and 2 blocks.
The Saints outscored Rocky Mountain on the team stats sheet hence why they won the hard-fought game in every category except aces, having only 4 while the opponent had 6.
On Nov. 9, the Saints played their last regular-season game against MSU Northern and celebrated our seniors for senior night.
Coming off a win, the Saints faced Montana Northern in another hard-fought game, but fell just short losing 2-3.
The Saints came out strong, winning the first two sets by an average of 6.5 points. The following three sets were a little more rough for the Saints, as MSU-Northern started to heat up. Ultimately, the Saints fell short in a close match in all three sets.
Junior Rachael Stacey from Helena, who is currently studying Psychology, finished the game off with 14 kills and 1 block. Elizabeth Heuiser had 13 kills and 3 blocks, and Lauren Heuiser added 10 kills.
The Saints got the chance to get revenge on MSU Northern in the Frontier Conference Tournament the next week.

The Saints took on MSU-Northern to conclude their season on Nov. 15 at Havre, Montana, falling just short, 1-3.
Senior Avery Kelly, from Butte, who is currently studying Business, led the Saints with 14 kills on the day. Senior Hanna Schweikert, from Columbia Falls, Montana, who is currently studying civil engineering, finished the game with 40 assists.
The Saints came on top in the second match and every other game was close with an average point differential of 4.6 points.
Senior Saint Jadyn Mueller was sentimental after playing her last game.
“It feels so surreal to think I probably will never play in a volleyball game again,” said Mueller, from Maple Grove, Minnesota, who will be graduate his spring with a degree in health science. “I’m so glad that I decided to play here at Carroll. All the memories and friends I’ve made here are much greater than just a game.”
Some players were recognized with post-season awards and we were lucky to have the Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Year this year on our team.
Senior Julia Carr finished the season with the most digs and digs per set in the Frontier as well as the NAIA, and that’s also why she was named a First-team All-Conference selection.
Carr is from Portland, Oregon, and is getting a degree in Computer Information Systems. Elizabeth Hueiser was named a second team All-Conference selection, eading the team with 316 kills, 380 points, and 2.72 kills per set.
Now that the season is over, the Saints will be resting up in preparation for the off-season.
