On Monday, Dec. 12, at 6 p.m. in the Scola three members of the Carroll staff will be honored for exceptional customer service.
Cindy Moore, custodian of Guad Hall, Allison Sever, director of mail services, and Clare O’Malley, head of catering for dining services, were all selected for recognition by the Servant Leadership class, a communication course taught this fall by Brent Northup.
Community member and Carroll supporter Brett Wiensch, owner of 1889 Coffee House, is also being honored for exemplary servant leadership.
“The class studies both servant leadership and customer service,” said Northup. “The students end their semester by celebrating outstanding customer servants and servant leaders on campus and in the community. They are working hard to make this a special occasion, and invite the community to attend.”
Northup says the fact that the awards come from students makes the ceremony special.
“Family of the honorees are attending, and will be proudly celebrating along with all of us,” said Northup. “Our Carroll staff works hard for too little recognition, so this is an opportunity to give them a public thank you. No better time than Christmas to celebrate the gifts our staff gives to all of us. The fact that these honorees were chosen by students who love them makes this a touching evening of celebration. Brett is a community member who supports the college in many ways, and hires our students, so he’s family, too.”
All students and faculty are encouraged to attend and support the honorees. The ceremony will take place from 6-8 p.m. in the Scola on Monday, Dec. 12.
