HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll Men’s Soccer team continued their pursuit of the program’s first CCC Championship, shutting out Evergreen State 3-0 on Saturday evening at Nelson Stadium.

The Fighting Saints (11-2-3, 10-1-1) controlled the game from start to finish, never letting the Geoducks (3-10-1, 3-7-1) find their footing as Carroll moved to 10-1-1 in CCC play.

A pair of early goals were more than enough for the Saints on Saturday.

Fresh off a hat-trick last night, Alfie Snow (Middlesbrough, England / JR) continued his hot play with a goal in the sixth minute off an assist from NAIA Offensive Player of the Week Caleb Hoxie (Helena, Mont. / GR).

Justus Herrmann (Weil Am Rein, Germany / FR) added a gorgeous header to double the Carroll lead just seven minutes later. Sean Balen (Mukilteo, Wash. / SO) played corner into the box where Sam Loughton (Hull, England / SO) changed the direction of the ball right to Herrmann for the finish.

In the 51st minute, Felix Billard (Mallorca, Spain / SO) got back in the scoring column for the first time in several weeks. Billard’s shot off the cross bar went across the goal line by mere inches, but was deemed a good goal by the officiating crew to give the Saints the 3-0 lead they wouldn’t lose.

Juan Muniz Navarrete (Hermiston, Ore. / SR) added another clean sheet to his tally, coming up with several impressive break-away stops in a five-save performance.

A win next Sunday at 3 p.m. over Providence will give the Saints the outright CCC regular season championship.
