Jackson Cossairt Concert

On Aug. 29, from 8 to 10 p.m., Trinity Lawn buzzed with energy as Jack Cossairt delivered a dynamic concert. The event drew a strong turnout, with students gathering to enjoy Cossairt.

“It was definitely the most fun performance I’ve ever done,” said Cossairt, a senior pre-secondary education major from Westmont, Illinois.

His diverse setlist included hits from Kiss, Lady Gaga, and Luke Bryan, maintaining high energy throughout the evening. The crowd responded enthusiastically, with impromptu mosh pits and human pyramids highlighting the night’s excitement.

“Hearing people get invested in and singing along to the music I grew up listening to is such a gift,” Cossairt added. “Getting to share my love of music with friends and complete strangers is an experience I can’t find anywhere else.”

Carroll College’s support for student-led events has allowed Cossairt to continue showcasing his work. On Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Upper Campus Center, Jack performed again for the student body.

Cossairt has had an itch for performing from a young age. He would perform at school talent shows, Battle of the Bands, and more.

When it comes to inspiration, Cossairt pulls from a few directions, but one very close to home.

“My biggest inspirations would obviously be my favorite guitarists – Eddie Van Halen, Buckethead, Dave Meniketti, Reb Beach, and Michael Sweet,” Cossairt said. “But my dad would have to be the biggest inspiration for me, by far. He also plays guitar, and he’s been incredibly supportive of me with my guitar work my whole life. Plus, he’s really dang good.”

Cossairt says he has two main goals.

“I’d like to perform at the Lewis & Clark Brewery,” he said. “Ever since I saw that stage, I’ve thought it would be a dream come true to get to perform there. My other goal is to record a full-length album.”

Jack has only ever written one song but he hopes to write a full album sometime in the future. Most notably, he hopes to perform with his dad in the near future as well.
