As the new academic year kicks off, students are eager to dive into the new and existing intramural sports going on around campus.
With teams forming, practices underway, and excitement building, the intramural leagues are set to offer a mix of competition and camaraderie.
This season’s intramural offerings promise a diverse array of sports, including classic favorites like soccer, basketball, volleyball, and flag football. There are many other intramural options. This season, there is cornhole and 6 v. 6 sand volleyball.
“I can’t wait to get back out there with a bunch of my friends having fun and just playing basketball,” said Lincoln Holmes, a part of the winning 5 v. 5 basketball team last year.
Holmes is a sophomore from St. George, Utah, and is pursuing a degree in Health Sciences.
“It is a time when we can get really competitive with each other and still have a blast playing the game,” Holmes said.
As we continue to glide through this semester other sports will start to arise. Intramural sports are an incredible way for students to stay active, make friends, and engage with their campus community. Students are eager to wear their team jerseys and engage in the friendly competition and community bonding that intramural sports provide.
To join intramural sports you can find sports registration on the Carroll website as well as in The Rec email that is sent out every week. From there, you have to sign up for IMLeagues. After that, all you have to do is create a team for the sport you are interested in!
