Students looking for a fun and social way to spend their weekends can roll the dice with Carroll College’s Board Game Club.
“We want to show new students that there is a space for them,” said Norbert Karczewski, a senior environmental sciences major and the former president of the board game club from Honolulu.
The club typically meets on Friday or Saturday afternoons once or twice a week. Meetings begin at 6 p.m., kicking off with party games to break the ice before moving on to more complex or strategic board games.
“We encourage members to bring their own board games, but we also have a collection of board games,” said Maximillian Gawlik, a junior chemistry major and active club president, from Prosser, Washington.
While the club currently does not host any special events, Gawlik mentioned they have considered organizing a Scrabble tournament in the future to attract more participants.
Students interested in joining can get more information from posters around campus, which include QR codes to RSVP for weekend meetings.
Gawlik invites students to email him at MGawlik@carroll.edu to ask questions or be added to the club’s email list.
