Great Divide is hosting its annual Ski Party for the entire Carroll community on Saturday, Feb. 8.
“Last year’s Great Divide Ski Party was an unforgettable night filled with snow, friends, and excitement,” said Jenna Castro, a sophomore biochemistry major from Medical Lake, Washington. “Whether you’re a seasoned skier, strapping in for the first time, or simply looking to enjoy time with friends in the cozy lodge, this event has had something for everyone.”
All Carroll students, faculty, and their families will receive free lift tickets between 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Ski and snowboard rentals will cost $15, with helmets available for $5. Bring extra cash for food and drinks and make all equipment reservations online in advance. In addition, there will be exclusive lodge access until 11 p.m.
While snowfall has been lighter than usual this season, forecasts indicate promising conditions ahead. February is expected to bring up to three feet of fresh snow, ensuring ideal slopes just in time for the event.
“To ensure everyone can have a good time, the bunny hill will be open, along with two enthusiastic instructors who will help new skiers learn the sport,” said Betsy Moran, one of the owners of Great Divide. Additionally, the Good Luck chairlift will be running, providing access to both blue and green runs for more advanced skiers.
“I can’t wait to get out there with everyone and enjoy the fresh snow,” said Nick Clouse, a junior computer science major at Carroll College from Whitefish, Montana. “Events like this are a great way to bring the campus community together and take a much-needed break from homework.”
