The NAIA announced its first in-season rankings this week for both men’s and women’s cross country. Carroll College moved up to 17th nationally for the women and 19th nationally for the men.
Both Carroll’s women and men won the Frontier Conference Preview several weeks ago in Great Falls, Mont. then performed well at the Montana Invite in Missoula, Mont. last week. The races were competitive within the Frontier Conference with several other teams rising in the rankings accordingly. Montana Tech is now ranked 25th for the men while Rocky Mountain College is receiving votes. Rocky is ranked 21st for the women with Tech receiving votes.
A panel consisting of one head coach from each conference voted on the national poll. Carroll Head Coach Shannon Flynn will take on rating duties for the men for a second season. Points are awarded based on rankings from the raters. Additional Top 25 ratings will take place on Oct. 5, Oct. 12, Oct. 26, and Nov. 6
