The Senior English Capstone Seminar students are accepting submissions for the yearly Carroll College Undergraduate Literary Festival to be held Nov. 7-8.
For this year’s 2024 Literary Festival, the theme will be identity. However, themes outside of “identity” are encouraged, too. All works are welcome: journalism, nursing, sports, engineering.
The Capstone Seminar students will judge the submissions and choose the first and second-place winners. Selected winners will be awarded monetary prizes to Montana Book Co. If you are a high school student, please clarify that in your submission.
Winners must be able to present their works (in full or in part) at the Carroll College Literary Festival on Nov. 7, 2024, from 3-6 p.m. and Nov. 8, 2024, from 12-6 p.m. in the library.
Presentation lengths will be 12-15 minutes long.
The criteria for submissions:
Prose: fiction, creative nonfiction, memoir or academic: 2000 words minimum.
Poetry: 200 lines minimum (one long poem or several shorter ones).
Please inquire about one-act play, spoken word, or graphic novel entries.
The submission deadline is Monday, Nov. 4, by 5 p.m. For more information or any questions, comments, or concerns, please email the Senior English Capstone Seminar at litfest@carroll.edu.
